MEYPACK VP 451 tray and wrap-around packaging machine
Fully automatic machine for packing beverage cans into trays and wrap-around cartons.
Products and formats:
- 0.33-litre cans, Ø 66 x 115 mm, loose and in four-packs
- 0.5-litre cans, Ø 66 x 168 mm, loose and in four-packs
Pack configurations for both can formats:
- 4 x 6 loose cans in a wrap-around carton or tray
- 3 x 4 loose cans in a wrap-around carton
- 2 x 3 four-packs in a tray
Output:
- Nominal output: 16,000 cans/h
- Packaging output: 12 or 24 packs/min, including a 5% capacity reserve
Product handling:
- Multi-lane bulk product infeed
- Four-packs fed transversely on two lanes, with the openings facing sideways
- Infeed height: approx. 1,150 mm ± 50 mm
- Outfeed height: approx. 650 mm ± 50 mm
- Trays and wrap-around cartons leave the machine broad side leading
Operating principle:
The products are fed continuously in multiple rows, distributed evenly into the lanes of the infeed conveyor using the accumulation principle, and grouped into the required formation. At the same time, a flat tray or wrap-around blank is removed from the magazine and positioned below the grouping station. The servo-driven lowering station receives the product formation and blank and folds the blank tightly around the products. A servo-driven indexing chain then conveys the pre-folded pack through the gluing and compression stations. The finished pack is transferred to the downstream conveyor system via a gravity roller conveyor.

Packaging material and magazine:
- Suitable for almost all commercially available corrugated-board grades, final design subject to approval by MEYPACK

- Magazine capacity: approx. 150 blanks or approx. 400 mm stack height for B-flute board
- Flat blanks are separated by vacuum cups and positioned by a belt conveyor
- Hot-melt adhesive: commercially available grades approved by the adhesive-unit manufacturer, final design subject to approval by MEYPACK
